Early Childhood Ministries

Kings Kids is the early childhood ministry for children 6 weeks to 3 years of age. The class meets in the Kings Kids room in the main building. The children are introduced to praise and worship, and early Bible studies using resources such as CD’s, DVDs, other media items, books and coloring pages. Volunteers for the KK class are recruited several times a year. We just ask that God have placed on the heart a love for raising up children in His kingdom. We also strongly urge parents with young children (age 6 weeks to 3) to volunteer in this ministry. Parents are encouraged to volunteer and join in the Kings Kids ministry during nursery time on Sunday, the Easter event, a family picnic in the Spring or early summer and various other WHWC events for EC and family.

The Shining Stars class is a wonderful group of children. Somehow we have mostly boys in the class. Our average class size is five. This class is for children who are potty trained up to 4 ½. We have four teams who serve monthly and teach the children. My teams are: Deborah and Daziee Paxton, Teresa and Logan Miller, Angie Hines and Vickie Edwards, and Allen and Wendi Heglar. We start off each Sunday morning with praise and worship with all the children. We then have our lesson. We have been learning about Adam and Eve, and God creating our world. Parents and others can get involved by volunteering to teach a class, help me with lesson plans, and bringing in snacks and juice.

Missions Quest is a group of children who are ages 4 year old preschool thru kindergarten. We meet Sunday mornings in the FLC to learn about the Bible, about people of the Bible and how Jesus helped them, and how He can help u,s too! We also love to have fun with crafts and silly games, so if the inner child in you is smiling - just find Erin Lutz and she can find you a place on our team! If you would like to help us but don't have a lot of time, the following items are always needed in our classroom: markers, crayons & construction paper. We also have a small snack every Sunday, if you would like to pick up a little something extra at the grocery store to donate to our hungry tummies!
