Kings Kids is the early childhood ministry for children 6 weeks to 3 years of age. The class meets in the Kings Kids room in the main building. The children are introduced to praise and worship, and early Bible studies using resources such as CD’s, DVDs, other media items, books and coloring pages. Volunteers for the KK class are recruited several times a year. We just ask that God have placed on the heart a love for raising up children in His kingdom. We also strongly urge parents with young children (age 6 weeks to 3) to volunteer in this ministry. Parents are encouraged to volunteer and join in the Kings Kids ministry during nursery time on Sunday, the Easter event, a family picnic in the Spring or early summer and various other WHWC events for EC and family.

The Shining Stars class is a wonderful group of children. Somehow we have mostly boys in the class. Our average class size is five. This class is for children who are potty trained up to 4 ½. We have four teams who serve monthly and teach the children. My teams are: Deborah and Daziee Paxton, Teresa and Logan Miller, Angie Hines and Vickie Edwards, and Allen and Wendi Heglar. We start off each Sunday morning with praise and worship with all the children. We then have our lesson. We have been learning about Adam and Eve, and God creating our world. Parents and others can get involved by volunteering to teach a class, help me with lesson plans, and bringing in snacks and juice.

Missions Quest is a group of children who are ages 4 year old preschool thru kindergarten. We meet Sunday mornings in the FLC to learn about the Bible, about people of the Bible and how Jesus helped them, and how He can help u,s too! We also love to have fun with crafts and silly games, so if the inner child in you is smiling - just find Erin Lutz and she can find you a place on our team! If you would like to help us but don't have a lot of time, the following items are always needed in our classroom: markers, crayons & construction paper. We also have a small snack every Sunday, if you would like to pick up a little something extra at the grocery store to donate to our hungry tummies!

Mission
The mission of Royal Rangers is to reach, teach, and keep boys for Christ! The purpose of the Royal Rangers ministry is to evangelize boys for Christ, develop the total boy for Christ (spiritually, physically, mentally and socially), and keep boys in our churches.
Aim and Goals
Our aim and goals for Royal Rangers are to instruct, challenge and inspire our boys in the areas of Bible doctrine, Christian service, moral conduct, and basic beliefs of our church through interesting activities that boys enjoy.
What is Royal Rangers?
Royal Rangers is a ministry that reaches across the United States and in over 65 nations around the world. It motivates boys spiritually through Bible study and memorization, devotionals, and Christian role models. Boys are strengthened mentally by an advanced awards-based weekly program. Further, the boys increase their physical prowess by participation in age-specific activities and recreation. Finally, they are introduced to church, community, and nature-related activities to develop their social skills and awareness.
Dedicated leaders, called commanders, provide boys the necessary direction during a weekly outpost meeting. The meetings are designed to develop the total boy for Christ and offer love and understanding between the boy and a godly role model.
The Life of a Royal Ranger includes great outdoor adventures through camping, water activities, hiking, rappelling, and mountain climbing, as well as challenging indoor adventures. There will be opportunities year-round to attend tremendous camping events at the outpost, district, or national levels. The experience as a Royal Ranger will be one of growth. He will grow in four ways. Through proper exercise and diet, his body will develop physically. Through prayer, Bible study, and witnessing, he will grow spiritually. By studying and reading, his mind will grow mentally. And by learning how to treat others, he will develop socially.
Royal Rangers ministers to boys in the United States and in over 65 countries through Bible study and memorization, devotionals, outdoor and camping activities, and Christian role models. Boys are strengthened
Mentally by a merit-based advancement program.
Physically by participation in age-specific activities and recreation, and Socially through church and community service activities.Spiritually through Bible study and devotions.
Dedicated leaders provide direction during weekly outpost meetings in the local church, which are designed to develop the total boy for Christ. Each outpost has four age groups to allow boys to advance with their peers at an appropriate pace.

Ranger Kids (Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade), includes a challenging and fun advancement system encouraging boys through indoor and outdoor activities and games. The weekly lessons and objectives help to reinforce godly principles in their daily lives, and they will have opportunities to achieve many advancement awards that can be placed on an awards vest and worn each week as part of the official Royal Rangers uniform. |
|
|
The Discovery Rangers program (Third, fourth, and fifth grade), features an exciting premier advancement system. In this system boys will learn through camping and non-camping activities. An emphasis is placed on learning at their own pace in a merit-based curriculum. |
|
|
Adventure Rangers (Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade), participate in more challenging camping and outdoor activities while emphasizing skill development, advanced camping, Junior Leadership Training, Frontiersmen Camping Fellowship (FCF), and Bronze, Silver, and Gold medals with national recognition. |
|
| Expedition Rangers (Ninth through twelfth grade) is considered a high action-packed adventure trail in which the boy is further challenged by advanced camping, camp craft skills, and ministry opportunities. These activities offer boys in this age group ways to become more self-reliant and develop confidence and a greater appreciation of God. DISCOVERY ZONE is for all kids in 1st - 5th grades. This is our exciting Sunday morning Kids Church. Each week, we start with our own high-energy praise and worship, usually led by Laurann Alley. It is so cool to see the kids enter into worship. Every quarter, we have DZ Talent Time, where they each get to come on stage and share their talents with the group. This shows them that no matter how young or talented they are, that God honors their gifts and can use them to bring glory to His name. The DZ Kids are always challenged and encouraged (ok, mostly bribed) to bring in their friends, Bibles, offerings, and to learn Bible Scripture. They, in turn, receive Bible Bucks that they can use to get some really cool prizes and candy, of course. Sorry parents, but it is amazing what you get out of kids when you offer them candy. Our attendance runs about 22-25 kids each week. So, with a DZ Leader and a couple of our awesome youth helpers each week, we work as a team to share God’s love and His power He can have in their lives.
DZ Kids love to support our Missions projects! We have 2 children that we sponsor thru Compassion International. The DZ Kids write to them and send them gifts for their birthday and on Christmas. We also collected items to give for our Thanksgiving Blessing Meals, the Backpack Ministry, and helped sponsor many children for Christmas.
This year, DZ Kids really enjoyed a couple of extra special events: KIDS NIGHT OF WORSHIP was coordinated by Erin Lutz, and led by the youth band and DZ Kids singers. Everyone had a great time singing and praising! Plus there was a skit, prizes and even a balloon drop! DZ LIVE was held in August, with special guests from Atlanta. There were puppets, singing, life-size characters, games, prizes, and contests. Plus, we all learned more about Jesus and how He could help us every day.
The Kids Consignment Sale is our semi-annual fundraiser. Consignors receive 70% of their profit, while 30% goes into our Children’s Ministry. This is a great outreach for our church, because most of our consignors are from outside the church, so it allows us to be a blessing to so many families. We also hosted a Kids Night Out in December, where the kids enjoyed a night of fun activities while their parents went out. Deborah, Daizee, Angie and Toni, thank you so much for all your help with this fun night.
Easter Eggstravaganza is always a big hit. We had lots of carnival games, inflatables, prizes and huge egg hunt, with over 100 children in attendance. Thank you so much to all the volunteers that help out at this event. It is because of YOU that it is so successful. Another exciting DZ event was our week-long Super Crazy Kids Camp, and boy does it get crazy…It was a week full of exciting activities, field trips, snacks, meeting new friends, and each day a Bible verse and lesson to go with the theme of the day. A huge thanks to Misty Smith for her partnership in making this such a success.
I want to personal give a shout-out to Pamela and Charles McLendon, Laurann Alley, Lisa Wilson, our wonderful youth helpers, and to those who have volunteered at any DZ event in 2010. Thank you so much for your team work with DZ. Your faithfulness and love for the DZ Kids shine through and help make it awesome for the kids. We truly need more volunteers. If you have a heart to work with children, we would love for you to join our team. Maybe you have a gift or talent that can make DZ even more amazing! Working with the DZ Kids is truly rewarding and whether you can lead a class, make snacks or crafts, build a puppet stage, sew, pray with a small group, sing, or just be there to love on the kids, YOU should join us in DZ.

Little Praisers is a dance and cheer ministry that is for girls 4 years - 3rd grade. It is being led by Kaye and Makenna Pate and taught by Makenna..
We meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesday evenings of the month from 6:00-6:45pm in the Shining Stars room of the Family Life Center. We have around 15 active dancers, are so blessed to see these young ladies praising Jesus through this ministry.
This ministry started in September of 2010. The girls performed a dance for Hallelujah House, and during a Sunday morning service for the congregation. They also did a cheer and dance during Friends Day. At Christmas, the Little Praisers shared the Symbols of Christmas.
We welcome any girls in this age group to be a part of this fun and exciting ministry. We would like to make this an outreach, so if you know of a group that would be blessed by our Little Praisers please feel free to let us know, Also we will be needing costumes made for upcoming events, if this is an area you could be of assistance, we would greatly appreciate your help. Thank you for your prayers and support.
