Worship and Media Teams

Worship Team

The purpose of the Praise and Worship Team is to lead God's people in praise and worship through welcoming and ushering in His Holy Spirit. We want to magnify and exalt the Lord in our hearts. When worshippers are drawn into God's presence, they speak to Him, and listen to Him.

Media Team

Our Media Ministry has become a unique and important part of our worship experience. The people who volunteer to do this ministry, though often behind the scenes, are key players in the worship experience. This ministry includes the lighting, sound, audio, and video elements of the services.

Treasures of Love

Treasures of Love is a ministry birthed out of a heart of compassion, by Myra James. Myra headed up this ministry until she passed away in March 2010. Not long after that, her daughter, Tera, felt compelled to carry on this ministry and fulfill the legacy that was initiated by her mother.

Treasures of Love is "A Ministry that desires to show the love of Christ through the work of our hands." This "work" includes: No-sew Prayer Blankets for those who are dealing with a serious illness or having surgery and Get-Well Bears for children and youth; it also includes: Crocheted Baby Blankets, Graduation Teddy Bears for high school and college graduates from World Hope, and Backpack Prayer Squares for children going into Kindergarten.

Each item is anointed and prayed over, before being given to the recipient. This is truly a powerful ministry, that has continued over the course of many years. To get involved, and use your creative talents – or maybe you just know how to tie knots! – contact Tera Bare.

Connections

handshake1 The objective of this ministry is to help everyone who enters the campus of WHWC feel very comfortable: we want to make a great "first impression" on all the guests, leading guests to the different areas of ministry and being able to help them with any questions that they may have about our church; we want to follow-up and stay in contact with first-time guests through a phone call within the first 24 hours, and then have the appropriate ministry leader follow-up with them. We want everyone to feel at home here at World Hope.

This ministry is aimed at getting people connected to the area of ministry that fits them. Also, we keep in contact with first-time guests through phone calls, emails, postcards and letters. In the future, we hope to develop a great team that can make this ministry as effective as it needs to be.

Couples Ministry

coupleshands The objective of the Couples Ministry is to strengthen the marriages within the church, as well as to be able to reach other couples who may not attend church; to develop Life Groups to build relationships with other couples that will be support spiritually, emotionally, and physically (the Life Group is to be the core group that you know you can depend on); To teach couples what a marriage is, based on the Word of God, and to build a marriage that will be able to withstand anything; and to reach our communities where they are, and make a difference where God has placed us.

In 2010, the Couples Ministry held several events that were aimed at building relationships among the couples of World Hope. The events consisted of: Bowling, Softball, Scavenger Hunt, White Water Rafting, Hangout Nights, and the Chili Cookoff and Christmas Karaoke Party. At these events, we consistently had 10 to 12 couples in attendance. Developing relationships is a key for us, for what we want to accomplish in the future.

We also had our first marriage conference. In February and March of 2010, we held the Marriage Built To Last conference, where we had a tremendous turnout for the 7-week course.

We look forward to what God wants to do in the lives of the married couples of the church. One of the main goals for 2011 and beyond is to establish many Life Groups for the married couples, throughout the communities where we live.
